Jean Bouchard
Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits

About the wine

The vineyards of Hautes Côtes de Nuits are located on a plateau just above the famous Côtes de Nuits. The vines of this Pinot Noir based wine are planted in calcareous clay soil, and the orientation of the vineyard – which is south to the east – gives optimal sun exposure to the vines.

These optimal surroundings have given us this fantastic 2019 Pinot Noir. When you pour the wine, it’s hard to miss the gorgeous intense ruby red color.  With the first sip, you can already taste the vegetal notes (such as blackcurrant buds) and floral notes (of grapevine flowers). Serve this wine at 16°C to get the optimal experience.

About the winery

Jean Bouchard is a Burgundian wine house with a long history, as early as 1926. Their oenologists take the greatest care to bring out the specific flavors and aromas which their Burgundy wines are known for. Their high level of quality is reflected in the fact that Jean Bouchard has been named ‘Winery of the Year’ at the 2019 London Wine Competition.

Coppo
Barolo DOCG

About the wine

Barolo is a delicious red wine from the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. It is made with selected Nebbiolo grapes farmed on the beautiful hills of the Langhe region. Aromatic with rich tannins and characteristics of old oak, these wines are considered by most to be some Italy's finest. And this 2015 Barolo DOCG radiates that it’s part of Italy’s finest.

The Coppo Barolo sparkles in a deep ruby red color. The taste can best be described as earthy with touches of fruit and spices, such as a bouquet of violets, cherries and licorice. A wide and complex wine with a strong and well-balanced tannic body.

About the winery

The historical wine cellars of Coppo are a UNESCO World Heritage site. The origins of the winery date back to 1892. For over 120 years, the family has remained the sole owner. Since the very beginning, the Coppo family has managed estate vineyards and bottled their own wine under the name of Coppo, making it one of the oldest family-run wineries in all of Italy.

Traditionally a wine enjoyed by gentry, Barolo grows in the region's finest plots of soil. The Nebbiolo grape does not travel well and is high maintenance, which is why it has never thrived quite as well elsewhere as on the Piemontese slopes. Like its top contender, Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo takes kindly to its terroir, thus displaying the subtleties of its environment.

J. de Villebois
Sancerre

About the wine

The Sancerre is a cuvée made from the famous Sancerre Terroirs. The grape variety (originally from Loire) has conquered many new lands becoming the second most popular white grape variety in the world. It is on the banks of the Loire that it produces its most subtle nectars. The grapes are grown on the famous hilly slopes composing the 3 Terroirs of Sancerre : Caillotes, Terres Blanches, and Silex.

This Sancerre has an intense bouquet and a flavorful palate and it burst with lots of ripe fruits flavors and vegetal aromas.

About the winery

J. de Villebois is the specialist of Sauvignon Blanc de Loire. Created by Joost and Miguela de Villebois at the start of this new millennium. This unique adventure began in Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley. Fascinated by the Medieval period, Joost de Villebois (aristocrat and a direct descendant of knights from the village of Villebois-Lavalette where the original family castle still stands proud in the foothills of the Périgord, Gironde and Charente) chose the Loire Valley to pursue his viticutural dreams.

As a man of the earth, Joost de Villebois loves contact with his vineyards and terroirs. As a fine technician, he brings his magic touch to the vineyards he chooses, to create the wine of his passion.

The grapes are quickly transported to the winery to minimize skin contact before they are gentle pressed in a pneumatic press. The grape juices are fermented traditionally in stainless steel tanks during 7 to 15 days. The newly made wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for at least 6 months. It is then blended and bottled in the spring following the harvest.
